The Project of Port Qasim in Pakistan

Port Qasim, Pakistan’s second largest port, located on the southern coast of Pakistan, the location is excellent, import and export volume accounts for about 30% to 40% of the country.QICT-2 Project is located immediately to the west of QICT- Terminal 1, at Port Qasim, near Karachi in Pakistan.

Quay wall is of steel tubular pile and steel sheet pile structure. The construction of the project comprises a berth catering for a maximum 85,000DWT ships, reclamation of approximately 16 hectares for container yard, 727m quay wall as well as dredging of the existing berth pocket to a level of 16.0m below chart datum suitable for draught 14m design vessels. FAP Project is located at Port Qasim towards the west of Qasim International Container Terminal on the virgin open sea front and is adjoining the site of Phase 2 of QICT. The terminal is of high pile beam-slab structure for the calls of 75,000DWT ships. The construction of the project comprising 2 berths, 79550m2 back yard, 6 grain silos with a capacity of 11541 tons, a fertilizer bulk store of 20,000t, a quay area of 300m in length and dredging of the existing navigation channel to a level of 12.5m below chart datum.
