On April 14, a holing-through ceremony for the Temiang Tunnel of ECRL was held at Section 7 of the Temiyang Tunnel of the China-Mathieu East Railway Project. The opening ceremony was attended by Davis -the CEO of the owner Malaysia Rail Link Corporation (MRL), Azlan – Project Director, Liu Jianming, – deputy general managerVice President of China HarbourCHEC and, Ddeputy General Manager of theCCCC ECRL Project General Manager Department of the project, supervision representatives, as well as relevant people of the General Manager Department and relevant personnel of the sSeventh dDivisions attended the ceremony.
Temiang Tunnel, with a total length of 793m, has been faced with multiple challenges such as blasting permit, smooth blasting application, construction adjustment of weak surrounding rock section and adverse impact of rainy season since the dark hole excavation began on January 31, 2022. With the joint efforts of the General Manager Department of the project and all the staff of the Seventh Division, new technologies and methods were introduced in time. After 438 days of hard work, Temiang Tunnel was completed on April 14, 2023, 48 days ahead of schedule, becoming the first completed tunnel in ECRL Section C.
In the construction process of Temiang Tunnel, the project construction team has always adhered to the concept of scientific, safe and efficient construction, introduced smooth blasting technology, used large wet spraying machine, and improved the construction efficiency through incentive assessment measures. At the same time, it organized various forms of special technology, process and quality training, which not only improves staff’s ability and summarizes site construction experience, but also improves the quality of tunnel products.
The completion of Temiang Tunnel is another important achievement of ECRL in the labor competition themed “Create high-quality products, ensure safety, set off a upsurge in civil construction” in the first half of 2023. ECRL will take the completion of Temiang Tunnel as a new starting point. With a firm initial intention, strong determination and confidence to win, it will steadily push forward the implementation of various work.
