A Summer Social Practice Team of Tsinghua University Goes to the South Pacific Division for Research Activities

Recently, led by the counselor Liu Wanghui and team leader Ye Zhe, CECM Summer Social Practice Team of Tsinghua University consisting of students from the Department of Civil Engineering and the Department of Construction Management has gone to the headquarters of CHEC Southern Pacific Division for research activities. Chen Wei and Feng Liangji – Deputy General Managers of the Division and other related personnel participated.

Chen Wei expressed welcome to the team’s visit. He introduced the development history of CHEC in the past 40 years and the construction of the “Belt and Road” projects, and gave a detailed introduction to the operation and business layout of the Southern Pacific Division since its establishment. Through typical projects and typical examples, Chen Wei described the picture where CHEC people worked hard, built CHEC’s brand and told Chinese stories in the countries along the “Belt and Road”, and encouraged the team members to aim high, move forward vigorously, and make full use of the practice opportunity to realize responsibility and mission, and strive to make progress. During the discussion, the two sides had interactive exchanges on the topics about CHEC and the “Belt and Road”, CHEC and technology management and Chinese standards going global, CHEC and personnel training, etc.

Ye Zhe expressed thanks to the Southern Pacific Division for its strong support and warm reception for this summer social practice and research activity, and highly affirmed CHEC’s values of “realizing the responsibilities, returning to the society with a high quality and establishing win-win cooperation” and its spirit of “inclusiveness, integrity, innovation and dedication”. He said that through this discussion, he had a more intuitive and specific understanding of the “Belt and Road” Initiative, and effectively felt the vigor and vitality of the central enterprises represented by CHEC in overseas projects.
