Recently, the CCCC ECRL Bukit Tinggi Tunnel was successfully dug through.

The total length of the Bukit Tinggi Tunnel is about 185 linear meters, of which the dark hole part is about 153 linear meters. The excavation of the dark hole began on May 26, 2023, and the tunnel face was safely cut through on August 16, with an average daily footage of 1.9 meters.

The whole tunnel is designed to be of Ⅴ-class surrounding rock, and the lining type is D6. After the excavation, it was found that the surrounding rock is dominated by fully weathered and strongly weathered earth rock, which is broken and easy to fall. During the tunnel construction, the project construction team strictly controlled the short footage and strong support, and always insisted on tunneling truss by truss. At the same time, by grasping the connection of processes, the team strove to shorten the single-cycle operation time and d achieved the established efficiency target in advance while ensuring the safe hole-through of the tunnel.

The Bukit Tinggi Tunnel, as a straight line connecting Temijan Tunnel to the wide-range end of Bridge 18, provides convenient access for roadbed, culvert and bridge construction. The ECRL project will take the opportunity of the labor competition themed “Creating high-quality products, ensuring safety and raising the climax of civil construction” in the second half of the year to continually summarize and refine the tunnel construction experience, so as to provide a solid guarantee for the subsequent tunnel production and strive to complete the annual production target with high quality.
