On February 25, the track laying machine unit accurately positioned the last set of 500m-long tracks, marking the successful completion of the first section of the long track laying of the ECRL main line, and the project achieved the node goal 23 days ahead of the baseline plan.
The first section is 92.5km long and passes through five stations: Kuantan Port Station, Cherating Station, Chukai Station, Kemasek Station and Dungun Station. Since the track-laying work officially started on December 11, 2023, under the correct leadership of the General Management Department and the strong support of brother divisions, the Tenth Division of the project has strengthened organizational leadership and coordination, quality management and construction safety, paid attention to technological innovation, optimized construction work plans, and allocated professional operators and traction locomotives and other equipment to guarantee the construction efficiency. Besides, it has overcome the influence of the rainy season, solved many problems such as insufficient station tracks and frequent shunting operation, and adopted the CCPG-500A long-track laying machine unit with high comprehensive efficiency to lay tracks, thus completing the line handover in advance and the construction tasks such as long–track laying and installation of fastenings with quality and quantity guaranteed.
Next, the ECRL project will adhere to the work idea of “smooth progress and fine control”, do a good job in summarizing the first section of long track laying work and the construction tasks of follow-up ballasting, stress relieving and locking, and prepare for the second section of the track laying, and contribute to the labor competition of “ensuring safety, creating high-quality products and winning the battle on all fronts”.
