Recently, with the successful lifting and alignment of the last section of the P16 pier tower and the completion of bolt tightening, the 275kV Sea-crossing Transmission Line Project in Penang, Malaysia has successfully completed the complete installation of the first iron tower, marking the project’s full entry into the iron tower installation stage.

The iron tower work in this project consists of a total of 31 towers, which can be divided into 25uni-pole towers and 6 double-limb towers according to the structural type. The P16 pier tower completed in this time is a marine uni-pole tower, with a height of 60m and a total of 6 sections. A single section has a length ranging from 7m to 12m and a weight ranging from 9 tons to 21 tons. During the construction, the project team overcame difficulties such as high lifting alignment and difficult linear and posture control. Through safety education and training, numerical lifting simulation, special meetings on construction, and hierarchical technical disclosure training, the project team assigned responsibilities layer by layer, reduced safety risks, and ensured the smooth completion of the installation of the first marine iron tower.

In the next step, the project team will make continuous efforts to do a solid job in the follow-up planning and on-site safety and quality management, maintain a good momentum centering on the 2024 project performance target, and promote the high-quality implementation of the project.
