Document of Section C (Northern Alignment) of Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Constructed by CHEC Officially Handed Over

The document handover ceremony for Section C (Northern Alignment) of the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link constructed by CHEC was held in Kuala Lumpur on December 2. Amirudin – Minister of Selangor State in Malaysia and Wee Ka Siong – Malaysia’s Transport Minister attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

In his speech, Wang Haihuai expressed his sincere thanks to the Chinese and Malaysian governments at all levels and people from all walks of life for their concern and support for the project. He said that the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project is the largest economic and trade cooperation project between China and Malaysia, a livelihood project for Malaysia to promote economic and social development along the east coast, and a project of the century for Malaysia to achieve connectivity and coordinated regional development. It attracts great attention from the people and all sectors of society in both countries. The CCCC feels a great responsibility and a glorious mission to undertake this project. It will build the project with the greatest elite force, the most sophisticated technology, the most advanced equipment, the most stringent standards and the best-quality services. In addition, it will make the project a green, safe, and innovative project full of talents that will be profitable to people and a model of high-quality economic and trade cooperation between China and Malaysia.

Amirudin said the government of Selangor state supports the implementation of the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project running through the northern part of Selangor and will actively cooperate with the Northern Alignment proposal, confident that it will better stimulate local economic growth.

Wee Ka Siong said the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project will serve as a “land bridge” linking the east and west coasts of the Malay Peninsula to boost the development of the east coast and Malaysia’s economic development. The determination of Section C (Northern Alignment) of the Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project will pave the way for its smooth launch.

The Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project, with a designed length of more than 600km, will drive the economic development of the east coast of Malaysia and greatly improve connectivity along the route after its completion.

Chen Zhong, Vice President of the CCCC, his Excellency Yu Jun – the Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Malaysia, Tang Qiaoqiao – Chairman of CHEC, and Bai Yinzhan, President of CHEC also attended the event.

That same day, in the presence of Wee Ka Siong – Malaysia’s Transport Minister and Amirudin – Minister of Selangor State in Malaysia, Darwis – CEO of the project owner, Malaysia Rail Link, submitted documents to Kong Qi – general manager of the CCCC Malaysia East Coast Rail Link Project.
