Key Progress Made in the ECRL Project

Recently, the first piece of prefabricated T beam in the LanchangLanzhang beam Beam making Fabrication plant Plant of the China Railway East RailwayECRL Project was has been successfully poured, marking that the beam construction of at Section C of the project has entered the “fast lane”.

LanchangLanzhang Beam Fabrication Plantbeam making plant is located on the left side of main line CH463+000, the main line mileage ofat Section Division 7 of the project. The temporary construction work of the Beam Fabrication Plant started in May 2023 and it took 150 days to complete the construction. During the temporary construction, the management team of Division 7, under the guidance of the General Manager Department, visited the beam fabrication plants in the whole line and learned their advanced construction experience, adopted new technologies and new methods in strict accordance with the construction plan, and tried to overcome difficulties such as difficult equipment assembly, insufficient personnel on site and tight construction time, and finally completed the pouring of the first piece of prefabricated T-beam on time. At the same time, after testing, all the technical parameters of Lanchang Beam Fabrication Plant are in line with the requirements of design specifications.

In the next step, the ECRL project will continue to take the labor competition activity of “building high-quality products, ensuring safety, and raising the climax of civil construction” as an opportunity to ensure the configuration of personnel and machinery equipment in the Beam Fabrication Plant, pay close attention to the production quality of T beams, and complete the production target of the project in 2023 on schedule.

Recently, the ballast distributing and regulating machine and the last batch of track-laying machine unit accessories have arrived at the Kuantan track-laying base of the ECRL Project, marking all the 108 sets of key equipment for the track-laying construction of the project have entered the site, providing equipment guarantee for laying of the first track in December.

The ECRL project is the first railway construction project in Malaysia to use 500m-long single-sleeper continuous long-track laying. The tracks laid along the main line are about 600km long. and the planned average laying efficiency is 1.5km/day. Centering on this objective progress, the following equipment is provided: CCPG500A long rail track-laying units, sleepers and long rail transport trains. The track laying equipment of the ECRL project is all manufactured in China based on Chinese standards, so the track laying work is full of Chinese elements, which has made a positive contribution to releasing the production capacity of domestic enterprises and driving the export of domestic related industries. Up to now, Division 10 has successfully realized mass production of sleeper prefabrication and long rail welding, and the production capacity has met the schedule requirements. And 6 diesel locomotives and 99 track flat trucks have been debugged and grouped.

In order to speed up the assembly and debugging progress of the track-laying units, Division 10 began to carry out 24-hour continuous operation under the guidance of the manufacturer to ensure that the complete equipment system realize test operation as soon as possible. At the same time, it also carried out training for operators and maintenance personnel to ensure the serviceability rate of the equipment, provide guarantee for the first and subsequent continuous track laying, and make the large-scale track laying construction equipment become a beautiful scenery along the East Coast Rail Link.
