On October 23, under the unified and coordinated deployment of the CCCC ECRL General Manager Department, the first batch of 6 track-laying diesel locomotives successfully arrived at the Kuantan Track-laying Base under Division 10 and got on the road smoothly. “The train runs fast, all by virtue of the locomotive”. The diesel locomotive, as key equipment for track laying, is responsible for hauling and transporting the rail materials for the entire line of about 787 track-laying kilometers. There is a long way to go.

The diesel locomotive for ECRL track-laying project will be used for 500m-long rail transportation, ballast transportation, check rail installation, station track material transportation and shunting within the base. The diesel locomotive adopts AC-DC electric transmission, suitable for 1435mm standard gauge, and it is 22m in length and 150 tons in service weight, with a maximum operating speed 100 km/h. For the transportation and hoisting of oversized and overweight equipment, the General Manager Department conducted careful plan and selected the nearest port and professional transportation teams. And Division 10 attached great importance to it, so it repaired the approach road in advance and formulated special hoisting plans in advance, and conducted safety and technology disclosure to the on-site hoisting personnel to ensure the safety and stability of the locomotive hoisting process.

After the locomotive gets on the road, Division 10 will pay close attention to the reconditioning of locomotive, and organize the manufacturers to carry out technical training for practical operation and maintenance personnel, improve the level of locomotive operation and maintenance, and ensure the management and good use of key equipment. The successful arrival of these 6 diesel locomotives will provide a strong equipment guarantee for the first track-laying ceremony in early December and the later track laying.
