Recently, the prestressed concrete continuous girder of Bridge 4# of the Fourth Division of the East Coast Rail Link Project (ECRL) was successfully closed, marking the completion and closure of the first 108m-long continuous girder on the whole line of ECRL.

The continuous girder of Bridge 4# is about 680 meters long in total, and its top is about 12 meters wide. Hanging basket cantilever pouring is adopted for cantilever segments. Since the construction of the bridge began, the project management team has planned ahead, organized carefully and set up a special construction management team. By overcoming various difficulties such as complex site construction environment, high pressure of resource access during the epidemic outbreak, and extreme weather affecting the project progress, continuously optimizing the construction scheme and increasing resource allocation, it ensured the smooth progress of the project construction. In addition, the Division also carried out a special labor competition, which was taken as an opportunity to implement clear responsibility and reward and punishment, and never put off till tomorrow what should be done today, which provided a guarantee for the smooth closure of the continuous girder before the construction node.

Bridge 4# is the second continuous girder project completed this week, which not only provides a prerequisite for the smooth progress of subsequent laying work, but also lays a solid foundation for the whole-line connection, and it also fully encourages the morale of all the project construction personnel. In the follow-up construction, the project participants will continue to carry forward the pioneering spirit, carefully organize the work with high standards and strict requirements according to the annual construction objectives, speed up the pace of construction on the premise of ensuring the safety and quality of the project, so as to fuel the labor competition themed on “building high-quality products, ensuring safety, creating an upsurge in civil construction”
