The “Genting No. 1” TBM for the Genting Tunnel of ECRL Completes an Excavation Length of 5,000m

Recently, the “Genting No. 1” TBM for the Genting Tunnel of the CCCC ECRL Project has completed an excavation length of the 5,000m.

In order to overcome the difficulties and challenges of poor geological conditions, long-distance ventilation, synchronous lining, cross operation of transverse passage drilling and blasting and excavation, etc., the project construction team supplied spare parts in advance, ensured sufficient materials and equipment in good condition, strengthened daily equipment maintenance, improved the rate of equipment in good condition, and used the maintenance time to strengthen advanced drilling. Besides, it increased the frequency of TSP advance geological forecast and CFC water detection by pilot hole, and dynamically adjusted the driving parameters and supporting parameters according to TBM driving parameters. During the TBM construction, the construction team organized the construction in strict accordance with the construction plan, and discussed the specific implementable plans and solutions through the three-level technical disclosure training, special construction meetings, daily speeches before work, etc., so as to further improve the construction process of each cycle, shorten the connection time of the processes, and improve the transportation efficiency in the tunnel.

In the next step, the ECRL project will continue to maintain the confidence and determination to overcome the difficulties and the enthusiasm to work hard and scientific and efficient site management, to ensure the safe and efficient excavation of Genting Tunnel and strive to successfully complete the production target tasks in 2024.
