The Prime Minister of Solomon Islands Attends the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Broadband Infrastructure Project

Recently, the ground breaking ceremony of the Solomon Islands Broadband Infrastructure Project undertaken by CHEC has been held. Manasseh Sogavare – Prime Minister of Solomon Islands, Minister of Communications and Civil Aviation, Minister of Finance, his Excellency Li Ming – the Chinese Ambassador to Solomon Islands, and Ma Jianhua General Manager of CHEC Southern Pacific Division attended the event, which was reported by several local media.

Prime Minister Sogavare said in his speech that the implementation of the project is in line with the needs of the government of Solomon Islands to improve its social economy, and that the project will contribute to improving labor productivity in the society and promoting the education, health and national civilization.

His Excellency Li Ming said in his speech that after its completion, the project will greatly improve the national network communication level of Solomon Islands, and will also provide new opportunities for practical cooperation between China and Solomon Islands. It is expected that the project will help 700,000 people on hundreds of islands realize connectivity and promote economic and social development.

Solomon Islands Broadband Infrastructure Project plans to build 161 3G/4G base stations in nine provinces of Solomon Islands, including microwave, solar products, tower construction, equipment installation, technical training, maintenance and other services, and after its completion, the project will be integrated into the communications backbone network of Solomon Islands.
